Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP)
Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP)
On Monday, April 19, SHC celebrated another exciting milestone. The prestigious American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) officially announced that Stanford Health Care's Nurse Residency Program (NRP) is a Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP). As an accredited practice transition program, our nurse residency training bridges a new nurse's education to clinical practice while promoting nursing excellence and driving high-quality patient outcomes. In a supportive environment, nurse residents are encouraged to thrive in a safe, resilient, and positive work culture.

Notably, only 201 international PTAPs are recognized by the ANCC's global standards for RN residency programs. PTAPs are renowned for cultivating a supportive and evidence-based transition for nurses into a new practice setting.
